Compost For Brooklyn Adds Thursday Open Hours

Compost for Brooklyn, the garden on the corner of Newkirk Avenue and East 8th Street, has just added open hours for compost collection on Thursdays through the end of August. They accept residential food scraps only (no dairy, meat, bones, woody material, lawn clippings, “compostable” dinnerware, or coconut shells) on these days and times:

Every Thursday through the end of August, from 12:30-2:30pm

Every 2nd and 4th Saturday, 11am-1pm: July 13, July 27, August 10, and August 24

Bring along your household food scraps to help make rich compost for our local street tree beds.
