Community Input Wanted For New Building Near The Old Stone House
The Old Stone House

Got ideas for what you might like to see in a potential new building in Washington Park? There are two community input meetings coming up this evening and tomorrow where you can share thoughts about what’s needed.

The Old Stone House‘s executive director (and Park Slope neighbor) Kim Maier tells DNAinfo that the building would go up at the end of 4th Street between the park and MS 51, and would ideally host performances, community events, and private parties — and, most importantly, would have more bathrooms, which are much needed, particularly when the park is packed in the summer.

The Parks Department would be funding the project, DNAinfo adds, though there’s no funding — or design plans — yet. This is just the first step to see what the community wants.

The two meetings are scheduled at The Old Stone House (336 3rd Street) for tonight, Friday, January 9 at 6pm, and tomorrow, Saturday, January 10 at noon. If you can’t make one of the meetings but would like to provide input, send your thoughts to info@theoldstonehouse.org.
