It’s going to be a busy gathering tonight at Community Board 2’s special July meeting in St. Francis College’s Founders Hall auditorium (180 Remsen Street) at 6pm.

The agenda not includes the usual review of requests for liquor license renewals, but also review of proposals to expand FAB Alliance’s boundaries, support Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn Partnership’s application for grants to support small business maintenance projects, and also support a design proposal for Brooklyn Navy Yard’s Building 72.

But perhaps the biggest (or at least most contentious) item tonight is the one that isn’t even in Fort Greene or Clinton Hill — the issue of CB2 support for development of a six story building on the current site of the Brooklyn Heights Library.

Although the development plans aren’t a local issue, it does affect us in that the plan also calls for the developer to build 100 percent affordable housing at 1041-1047 Fulton Street and 911-917 Atlantic Avenue in Clinton Hill, in exchange for the rights to build in Brooklyn Heights.

The meeting starts at 6pm and promises to be a packed house, so get there early for a seat!
