Coming Up At The Library: Kris Waldherr and U.S. Citizenship Exam Prep Classes

Coming Up At The Library: Kris Waldherr and U.S. Citizenship Exam Prep Classes
Kris Waldherr

Two exciting events going on at the Cortelyou Library this week:

Local author and illustrator Kris Waldherr will read from her books Doomed Queens and The Lily Maid, discuss the process of getting published, and maybe even offer a sneak peek at her latest unpublished work on Saturday, April 13 at 3pm.
  • Neighbor Benno Groeneveld is holding a U.S. Citizenship Exam prep class before the English conversation group we posted about last week, Wednesday nights from 5-6pm. Groeneveld says:
These classes are not intended to guide people through the whole naturalization process, but hopefully they can help lessen people’s anxiety about taking such an important test. CUNY’s Citizenship Now project offers extensive help for the whole immigration process.
US Citizenship and Immigration Services has information and a list of 100 questions from which an immigration officer can pick to test your knowledge. (People who are already U.S. citizens might want to try this test, too. See how well you know your country!)

For more information on Waldherr’s appearance and classes offered, call the Cortelyou Library at 718-693-7763.
