Coming Soon & Closing In Park Slope: Buttermilk, Sposabella, And Boing Boing
339 7th Avenue, Buttermilk Bakery Coming Soon

Get ready for some amazing baked goods on 7th Avenue, but prepare to say farewell to a couple of businesses that have been around a while. A look at some of the comings and goings in our area recently:

Buttermilk Bakeshop is scheduled to open this February in the old Tasti D-Lite location at 339 7th Avenue near 9th Street. South Slope News spoke with pastry chef and Prospect Park Southwest neighbor Katie Rosenhouse, who says that they’ll serve a variety of sweets, so that “everyone will be able to find a favorite.”

Sposabella Couture, the bridal boutique at 69 7th Avenue, has closed. Here’s Park Slope reports that they’ve moved to 252 West 40th Street in Manhattan. We’ll miss their great mannequins.

Boing Boing, the maternity shop at 204 6th Avenue, will be put up for sale, according to a piece written by owner Karen Paperno in the Huffington Post (h/t FiPS). She cites personal problems like health issues she and her family have dealt with, along with an increase of online shopping and a struggle to pay the bills, as reasons for the decision. Park Slope Parents are currently calling on neighbors to help Karen and her business with donations, and to simply shop.
