Cocktails for a Good Cause

If you like drinking and you like helping neighborhood kids in that order, tonight is your lucky night. T.B. Ackerson is hosting a series of tastings at Sycamore to benefit PS 139’s after school programs, and the second is tonight from 7-9 p.m.

The last event featured the gin-based Cornell cocktail and raised over $150 for the school. The drinks will keep coming until $1,000 is raised — after which you can be sure that the drinks will continue to be poured.

The drink of the evening:

Back-to-School Cocktail #2: The Harvard
3 parts cognac,
1 part red vermouth (sweet),
& 3 to 10 dashes of bitters depending if it’s sunrise or sunset
(basically a Manhattan with cognac instead of Bourbon or rye)

Fun fact: The cocktails that were chosen for this series are ones named after old universities that T.B. Ackerson staff have attended.
