Restaurants across the country closed for business yesterday in a show of solidarity for “Day Without Immigrants.” Fueled by the Trump administration’s executive orders on immigration and the recent surge of ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) raids and deportations, the boycott demonstrated how much the work and contributions of immigrants affect our daily lives.
According to News 12, on the stretch of Coney Island Avenue known as Little Pakistan, most businesses did not open yesterday.
