Clinton Hill Gets NYTimes Treatment, Emphasizing “Transition”
Clinton Hill got highlighted in the New York Times as a neighborhood “in transition” from 19th century industry and architectural charm to steadily gentrifying and diversifying real estate trend/hotspot. They talk with new residents and real estate agents, and describe a bit of the neighborhood’s pre-Civil War history, as well as the strong schools in the area.
Local Brooklyn Community Board 2 district manager also notes that the neighborhood is now seen differently by visitors and new residents:
People once “thought of it as West Bed-Stuy,” he said. “These days their perception is more East Fort Greene.”
What do you think of the change going on in Clinton Hill? If the New York Times had asked you for your thoughts, what would you have said?
