Clinton Hill Fire Leads to Dramatic Rescue

CLINTON HILL – A fire at 519 Myrtle Avenue yesterday led to a dramatic rescue as crews battled the flames to rescue an infant child.

Around 3:00 PM on Monday, November 7, the FDNY responded to a call for a fire on the second floor of a three-story apartment building on the corner of Myrtle Avenue and Grand Avenue in Clinton Hill.

The @NYCFireWire twitter account captured the event in the tweet below:

Reports say the child was located in an adjacent apartment with its mother, who were safe in the fire that injured three.

After investigating the cause of the fire, the FDNY has determined the blaze was an accidental electrical fire, caused by a power strip.
