Week 14, and we’re still seeing businesses along Coney Island Avenue blocking a lane of traffic, which causes cars to get backed up as they’re travelling southbound and creates dangerous conditions for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians.

When we spoke to Councilmember Mathieu Eugene briefly recently, we brought this issue up, and he said he wasn’t aware of the problem, despite the fact that we spoke with Jonah Rogoff, Eugene’s Legislative Director, in May, who said the office had contacted the 66th Precinct about this before, and would do so again.
We’ve reached out to Eugene’s office regarding this, the new traffic light on Cortelyou, and other traffic issues you brought up yesterday, but we urge you to write or call as well:
