CIA Traffic Problems Continue

If you’re the sort of picky person who enjoys walking on sidewalks instead of in the middle of busy streets during, say, rush hour, then you probably avoid stretches of Coney Island Avenue near Cortelyou Road. Our long-lived CIA Traffic series has tracked but a fraction of the continued violations in the area over this past year. Today’s pictures highlight a favorite pastime on the block: businesses parking cars on public sidewalks.

The optimists among us sense a light at the end of the tunnel in the form of Councilman Eugene’s Cortelyou Road Traffic Calming Forum which is happening October 11 at 6 pm.
