Church Avenue One Step Closer To Having A Wine/Liquor Store

A new wine and liquor store is the probable next addition to the rapidly changing block of Church Avenue between East 7th Street and East 8th Street.

R & M Church Avenue Wine & Liquors has applied for a license to open a retail liquor establishment at 727 Church Avenue, according to a sign posted on the location.

The north side of the block, across from a large, 24-hour car wash, is undergoing a dramatic transformation. Just last week, La Loba Cantina, a bar featuring tequila, mezcal and the cuisine of Oaxaca, Mexico, opened its doors at 709 Church Avenue.

Residents have the right to express their views about the opening of an establishment that sells alcohol in their community. The Liquor Authority notes on its sign that residents can comment on R & M Church Avenue Wine & Liquors Corp’s application in writing.
