Looking for something fun to do with the whole family this week? From celebrating the 25th anniversary of Oh, The Places You’ll Go!, to fun with LEGOS, to zydeco in Prospect Park, there are a lot of great kid-friendly events coming up in our area. See the full details below!

Babies & Books
When: Wednesday, June 3, 10am
Where: Central Library, Youth Wing, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: Kids ages birth to 18 months and their guardians can enjoy stories, songs, and rhymes.
How much: Free, but you must pick up a ticket the morning of the program at the Children’s reference desk.

Rock With Adam
When: Wednesday, June 3, 10:30am
Where: Park Slope Library, 431 6th Avenue
What: Are you ready to rock? Neighborhood kids are definitely in for a treat as guitarist Adam Blotner plays some of his favorite tunes.
How much: Free, but tickets are required for entry (one per family), so be sure to arrive early to score your ticket.

Our Garden Club

What: Kids with and without disabilities can plant seeds, read stories, sing, and take home flowers.

Fledglings: Early Childhood Program

What: Join the Prospect Park Alliance for a new early childhood program for parents and care-givers with children 18-36 months in age. Children will develop self-reliance, creativity, and problem-solving skills through outdoor play-based activities.

Nature Exploration
When: Thursdays & Fridays, 12-4pm
Where: Audubon Center, Prospect Park
What: Families can enjoy a variety of activities, from games for bird nerds to Citizen Science projects to a chance to meet a resident snake.

Story Craft

What: Kids can come listen to a story and then create art inspired by the story they heard.

Spoke the Hub’s Local Produce Mini-Festival

Celebrate Brooklyn: Creole for Kidz!

Where: Prospect Park Bandshell, Prospect Park West at 9th Street
What: New Orleans-based accordionist, singer, and educator brings a “touch of the bayou” to the Ezra Jack Keats Family Concert. The day will include readings from children’s book author Dan Zanes, complete with video projections.

Songs for Unusual Creatures

Where: Barbes, 376 9th Street
What: Quirky author and composer Michael Hearst, along with his five-piece band, presents Songs For Unusual Creatures: a highly-geeky A/V presentation of some of the most bizarre animals that roam the planet. The creatures are brought to life with such odd-ball instruments as theremin, claviola, and stylophone.
