Cherry Hill Gourmet Market, at 1901 Emmons Ave in the old Lundy’s building, is holding an event today for the Jewish holiday season. They are calling it Yad B’Yad, which is Hebrew for “hand in hand.”

The event is to help Jewish people in need such as World War ll veterans, holocaust survivors, and senior citizens by giving them prepared food from the market to have over the holidays. Yad B’Yad is an initiative from the Be Proud Foundation, which does a lot of charity work in the neighborhood.

The Be Proud Foundation does kosher food giveaways like this before the major Jewish holidays. Last Passover, over 600 kosher food baskets were given to families in need.

The event at Cherry Hill starts today at 11am, and will be held on the second floor cafe. Local politicians are expected to be there to help out.

Last week, Cherry Hill received its three millionth customer, who left with free groceries and Cherry Hill attire. Cherry Hill is certainly in the giving mood.
