Local students who recently participated in the Friends of Cortelyou Library program, “The Neighborhood As I See It,” are sharing their photos and interviews with the whole community in an exhibition at the Cortelyou Library and there will be a gala on Saturday afternoon to kick it off.

“The kids have been part of the process right down to selecting the photos that they wanted to share,” said Carmen Mason Browne, who organized the program. “I think they’ll be wowed when they see the show.”

The program was funded through a grant from the Citizens Committee for New York City and allowed students to explore the community through photography and interviews.

There will be a gala hosted at the library on Saturday, November 21 to kick off the exhibition from 2:30-4:30pm. if you plan to attend, the Friends ask you to RSVP at cortelyoulibraryfriends@gmail.com.
