Check Out A Free History Mini-Class With Brooklyn Lifelong Learning

Interested in learning more about Brooklyn History? Brooklyn Lifelong Learning is offering a free mini-class on Brooklyn History with borough historian Ron Schweiger next week.

Brooklyn Lifelong Learning is an educational and cultural community for retired and semi-retired people interested in continuing to learn. The organization is located on the campus of Brooklyn College — its predecessor, The Institute for Retired Persons in Pursuit of Education, dates back to 1977.

The mini-class, the topic of which is “How the Streets and Neighborhoods of Brooklyn Got Their Names,” starts at 12:30pm on Tuesday, September 8 at Brooklyn College and is followed by a chance to find out about Brooklyn Lifelong Learning, which provides workshops in painting, foreign languages, memoir writing, drama, music, poetry and more.
