Chase Bank Will Close Branch On Sheepshead Bay Road
Chase bank is merging two of its branches in Sheepshead Bay.
The company informed customers by mail last week that the location at 1519 Sheepshead Bay Road — across from the subway station — will close on November 12 and consolidate with the branch one block away at 2623 East 17th Street.
In the letter, the bank’s vice president and district manager Kevin Kehoe advises Chase account holders that they can pick up a new key to continue using the night deposit at the East 17th Street branch. Kehoe also said that customer’s account numbers will not change and they can continue to use their checks and credit cards.
JPMorgan Chase spokesperson Michael Fusco confirmed that the Sheepshead Bay Road branch will close on November 12.
“Over the years, we have increased our branch network through acquisitions and opening new locations. Sometimes that has led to branches with overlapping market areas, resulting in neither branch being particularly successful. Other times, customers have changed their habits,” he said in an email. “Currently we are consolidating these branches where another is nearby or traffic is low.”
