Changes To Local Subway Lines This Week
As we prepare for the rain, which should make the first few days of this week pretty wet, we can be glad that your time on the subway should keep you dry — even if your trip is a little longer than usual because of a few changes. Details from the MTA:
F service operates in two sections
Late nights, 12:01am to 5am, Tuesday to Friday, July 16-18
Service operates between: 1. 179 St and Jay St-MetroTech, and via the A to/from Hoyt-Schermerhorn; and 2. Stillwell Av and Bergen St, and via the G to/from Bedford-Nostrand Avs. Transfer at Hoyt-Schermerhorn to continue your trip.
G trains run every 20 minutes
Late evenings, beginning 11pm, Monday through Thursday until July 24
Allow additional travel time.
No R trains between Lower Manhattan and Downtown Brooklyn
All times until October 2014
No R service at City Hall, Cortlandt, Rector, Whitehall, Court Streets, and Jay Street-MetroTech. R service operates between Forest Hills-71st Avenue and Bay Ridge-95th Street. Trains run via the Q in both directions between Canal Street and DeKalb Avenue.
Additionally, look out for changes further along the D and F lines.
These schedules will occasionally change, so check MTA.info for the latest updates.
