A landmarked home on Albemarle Road sporting a backyard Koi pond is on the market, set to join the burgeoning $2 million club in Prospect Park South’s historic district.

The 3,338 square foot home at 916 Albemarle Road between Coney Island Avenue and Stratford Road has seven bedrooms and four bathrooms replete with wood moldings, hardwood floors, and stained glass windows that all look immaculately preserved. But the hidden star is the outdoor space — Doric columns towering over a wraparound porch on a latticework base, and an enclosed backyard with a Koi pond. Plus, the almost $2.25 mill asking price buys you a single-car garage and basement. See the full listing on Zillow here.

The single-family Colonial was designed in 1909 by Benjamin Driesler, one of Brooklyn’s most prolific architects of the early 20th Century. Driesler’s designs are sprinkled throughout Flatbush and Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, according to the Landmark Commission’s Prospect Park South Historic District designation report.

In the early 1900s, the location was also home to a freemason named John Meyers, who died in 1911 and had his funeral service inside the vast foyers, according to Brooklyn Daily Eagle archives.

The owner on record bought the home in 1979, according to PropertyShark.
