Celebrity Real Estate: Jonathan Safran Foer Sells Boerum Hill Brownstone To TV-Star Broker
BOERUM HILL – After nearly a year on the market, author Jonathan Safran Foer has finally sold his beautiful Boerum Hill bachelor pad for $7.6 million.
Originally listed at $10.5 million with Compass, Foer switched brokers and worked with Nest Seekers International’s Ryan Serhant on the sale, The Real Deal reports. Serhant, the Million Dollar Listing: New York star, listed the property at $8.995M and purchased the home himself for $1.395M less, according to the report. Serhant plans to move from Soho into the five-story home located at 374 Pacific Street.
The 1899 Greek Revival home boasts 8,000 square feet spanning five floors, making it one of the largest homes in brownstone Brooklyn, according to the Compass listing. It features eight bedrooms, five-and-a-half baths, a three-story atrium, and ten-foot-high front windows.
Foer bought the Boerum Hill brownstone for $5.4 million in 2014, around the time of his divorce from the writer Nicole Krauss (“The History of Love”). The literary pair previously lived together in Park Slope.
