Celebrate Winter Solstice At The East 4th Street Garden

Celebrate Winter Solstice At The East 4th Street Garden
solstice

Come on out to a Winter Solstice celebration Wednesday, December 21 at the East 4th Street Community Garden.

This fun, family-friendly event, complete with cookies and hot drinks, will herald the new season with stories and (weather permitting) stargazing. A certified local astronomer, Irene Pease, will be on hand with her trusty telescope to explain what the solstice is all about. The revels begin at 6:30pm, and early arrivers may be able to see Venus!

You can find the garden between Caton Avenue and Fort Hamilton Parkway on East 4th Street, behind the wrought-iron fence. This event is free — but cookie donations would be gratefully accepted. Come and join us as we officially welcome the cold and snow…. A reason to be cheerful.
