Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day 2018 In Brooklyn

St. Patrick’s Day is Saturday, March 17! Brooklynites enjoy the holiday so much, we have two parades to celebrate!

Check out our list below for a few ways to say, “Sláinte!,” and honor the luck of the Irish.

43rd Annual Brooklyn St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Park Slope)
Sunday, March 18 at 1pm
The 43rd annual Brooklyn St. Patrick’s Day Parade kicks off in Park Slope on Sunday at 1pm.

The parade route starts at 15th Street and Prospect Park West and travels across 15th Street to 7th Avenue. It then goes up 7th Avenue to Garfield Place where it’s marches over to Prospect Park West and back down to 15th Street.

This year’s Parade Grand Marshal will be Richard J. Moylan, the President of Green-Wood Cemetery.

There will be a pre-parade mass at 9am at the Holy Name of Jesus Church located at 245 Prospect Park West. At noon, band and marching units will gather on Prospect Park West between 9th & 15th Streets.

A  “Rededication Ceremony” to the Heroes & Victims of 9/11 will take place at 12:45pm just before the parade “step-off” at 1pm.

25th Annual Bay Ridge St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Sunday, March 25 at 1pm
The 25th Annual Bay Ridge St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place a week later on March 25 at 1pm.

The parade travels along 3rd Avenue, starting at Marine Avenue and up to 67th Street. The grandstand will be located in front of the Greenhouse Cafe at 7717 3rd Avenue (between 77th & 78th Streets).

This year’s Parade Grand Marshal will be Martin J. Cottingham, the President of The Irish American Building Society (IABS), who will be joined by ten Deputy Marshals/honorees.

A pre-parade mass will be held at 9:30am at St. Patrick’s Church located at 9511 4th Avenue (at 95th Street).

Parade participants start lining up at 12:30pm at the intersection of Marine & 3rd Avenues for the 1pm kick off.

Friday, March 16 at 8pm
Irish/Celtic rock group The Prodigals present Claddagh, a multi-media show fusing the band’s music with world-champion Irish/tap dancers and a modern-day Irish fairytale. Narrated by bandleader Gregory Grene, the audience will sing along to Clancy Brothers-era songs and classics like “Danny Boy.”

St. Patrick’s Day Weekend at Irish Haven
Irish Haven, 5721 4th Avenue (at 58th St.), Sunset Park
Friday, March 16, 4pm to 7pm; Saturday, March 17 starting at 8am; Sunday, March 18, 8pm to 11pm
After an evening of $4 cocktails on Friday, this neighborhood institution will open its doors at 8am on St. Patrick’s Day offering Irish music all day, corned beef & cabbage (from 2pm to 8pm), and a DJ (from 9pm until late). On Sunday, Sean McNally will perform live from 8pm to 11pm.

Saturday, March 17, 12pm to 6pm
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and drink beer for a good cause! Proceeds from this event will support The Brooklyn Greenway Initiative. Attendees will celebrate inside a tented beer garden and enjoy “green cuisine” from Coney Shack; Irish Coffee Randall (NY Honey Stout infused with Whiskey-soaked oak staves and coffee); Porterman Irish Coffee Infusion (cold brew infused sweet potato porter); and live face/body painting.

St. Patrick’s Day Tattoos @ Dromedary

Saturday, March 17, 3pm to 7pm
Head over to this St. Patrick’s Day Tiki Party and get inked for free by tattoo artist, Olivia Pakitsas. Choose from 11 original Olivia flash designs (see options at the event page’s discussion tab) for your arm or leg. Since time is limited, be sure to pick a design beforehand. There will also be food and drink specials throughout the night.

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church 2nd Annual Parish St. Patrick’s Day Party
St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 199 Carroll Street (at Clinton St.), Carroll Gardens
Saturday, March 17, 6pm to 9pm
The Church will host a St. Patrick’s Day party benefitting Episcopal Charities. There will be Irish beer, corned beef and cabbage, and live Irish music performed by Alex Canovas and the St. Paul’s Irish Players.
Suggested Donation: $15 adults, $5 kids, and $30 max for families

Irish Music All Night At The Way Station
The Way Station, 683 Washington Avenue (between St. Marks Ave. & Prospect Pl.), Prospect Heights
Saturday March 17, 7pm to 11pm
The Way Station is hosting a night of live Irish Music with Paula Ryan at 7pm, The Waysties at 8pm (performing a double set), 3 Pints Shy at 10pm, and Rascals and Rogues at 11pm.
