Celebrate Newkirk Plaza

If you haven’t been to Newkirk Plaza recently, this Saturday’s event is a great reason to check out what’s so worth celebrating: the construction on the Plaza deck and the subway station complete, the new trees and planters, the new mural that’s coming to the passageway, and of course Leon’s Fantasy Cut, which is celebrating 100 years as a continually operating barber shop.

Join the Flatbush Development Corporation and the Newkirk Cares Collaborative from 10:30am to 1pm to check out the Plaza’s new look and:

• Learn some tips for gardening in small spaces.

• Vote for your favorite mural design–the winner will be painted in the passageway this summer.

• Kids can paint planter pots at Almac, and enjoy a magic show as well.

• I don’t think Leon will be cutting hair–he will be too busy partying, so stop by to join him!
