Celebrate Cider Week in Park Slope

The second annual Cider Week kicks off tomorrow, and fans of the apple-y goodness don’t have to go far from home to take advantage of some interesting menus and tastings. Here’s a look at what you’ll find at some Park Slope spots:

Bierkraft
191 5th Ave, between Berkeley and Union
They’ve got two events scheduled for next week: a tasting on Tuesday, October 16 that focuses on the ciders of Asturias, which are natural ciders that are bottled without gas, and because of that they’re poured in a specific way; and a cider draft event on Thursday, October 18.

Flatbush Farm
76 St. Marks Ave, near Flatbush
They’re hosting a Cider Week BBQ on Sunday, October 14 from 4-7pm, which will feature an a la carte menu as well as a three-course cider tasting menu. From October 12-21, they’ll have feature a selection of hard ciders and will have a Cider Week tasting menu available every night–it’s got apples in every course!

Rose Water
787 Union St, near 6th Ave
They already have some artisanal, small producer apple and pear ciders on their menu, like the Etienne Dupont Cidre Bouché Brut de Normandie pictured above. For Cider Week, they’ll be offering ciders by the glass and pairing them with an Autumn Market Menu and the Chef’s Tasting Menu.

Other nearby places to check out for Cider Week include Beer Table, Bklyn Larder, the Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket (don’t forget about the apple pie bake-off there on Sunday, too!), and Pacific Standard.
