CB 7 To Address West Nile Spraying, Police Cameras At Meetings Tonight And Tomorrow
If you’ve had concerns about the West Nile spraying that happened in our area this summer, or if you have questions or comments about the body cameras that are expected to soon be worn by all members of the NYPD, Community Board 7 will address these issues at committee meetings tonight and tomorrow.
- The CB 7 Parks and Environments Committee will meet tonight, October 29, at 6:30pm, when there will be a discussion about this summer’s West Nile spraying, as well as about Sunset Park sound permits. The meeting will held in the CB 7 board room at 4201 4th Avenue (the entrance is on 43rd Street) in Sunset Park.
- Then, tomorrow, October 30, CB 7’s Public Safety Committee will convene at 6:30pm at the same location (4201 4th Avenue) and will discuss the NYPD body cameras, a liquor license renewal application for Rancho Luna Bar (745 39th Street), and “Nicholas’ Law,” which is an act to amend the penal law and the general business law in relation to safe weapon storage. The proposed law is named after Nicholas Naumkin, who, in December 2010, died after being shot by a friend who was playing with his father’s unlocked gun in upstate New York.
