Canine Fashion, Sublime Shakespeare, And More: 4 Summer Strolls Coming To 5th Avenue
The streets aren’t just for the cars. After all, there’s Shakespeare, canine beauties, carnivals, eating contests, and strolling legs that need to stretch out on 5th Avenue.
Beginning with the first event this Saturday, July 16, the Park Slope Fifth Avenue Business Improvement District is sponsoring the annual Summer Strolls series throughout the heat of the summer.
While the events are diverse, the celebrations will take place between 5pm-9pm on four Saturdays over the next two months: July 16, July 23, August 13, and August 20.
“The Summer Strolls are a perfect example of neighbors coming together, into the streets to celebrate the community and the people who live in it,” says Paul Molnar, co-owner of South Pub, co-Artistic Director of South Brooklyn Shakespeare, as well as the acting President of the Park Slope Fifth Avenue BID.
The first two strolls will take place in South Slope, and the final two will take over the North Slope area of 5th Avenue.
More interviews about South Slope are available here.
“South Brooklyn Shakespeare was born out neighbors coming together to contribute their art to the community. What has grown from that is a vibrant, neighborly bond that is South Slope,” says Molnar.
