Camillo—New Italian Restaurant Coming Soon To PLG

PROSPECT-LEFFERTS GARDENS — Little Mo Wine & Spirits recently posted a photo on Facebook of a new Italian restaurant coming soon to 1146 Nostrand Avenue, in the space that formerly housed local dive bar, Maximillian Bell’s.

Conveniently located steps away from the wine shop, Camillo will serve authentic Roman cuisine including pinsa—an ancient style of Roman pizza, pasta, and other traditional dishes, alongside cocktails, negroni, spritz, and beer and wine on tap.

The trio behind Clinton Hill’s Locanda Vini e Olii (129 Gates Avenue), Michael Schall (General Manager), Rocco Spagnardi (Sommelier), and Michele Baldacci (Executive Chef), bring this exciting new dining option to the neighborhood.

Named for Count Camillo Negroni, the purported creator of the Negroni cocktail, the restaurant will serve gin-based and whiskey-based interpretations of the tipple typically made with Campari, gin, and vermouth, and garnished with an orange peel.

Marion Baldacci told BKLYNER over the phone yesterday afternoon that a soft-opening is planned for Camillo on Tuesday, September 19.
