Call To Readers: Tell Us How Your Block Is Changing

Call To Readers: Tell Us How Your Block Is Changing

A surge in development is transforming greater Flatbush, Prospect Lefferts Gardens, and Kensington — three neighborhoods where historic homes are being razed and replaced with multi-story apartment buildings, forever changing the density and physical fabric of this corner of Brooklyn.

While some neighbors celebrate the changes, others lament the loss of structures tied to an almost-forgotten history.

At Ditmas Park Corner, we don’t want to let these stories get torn down with the rafters. We’re embarking on a project to document the loss of neighborhood homes, schools, and other buildings to chart development block-by-block — but we need your help.

Do you know about a building that may be demolished? Or a site that has already been torn down, or a new building rising on your block? Or just a nagging development curiosity?

Send us a photo, address, and any other information you have about the site — and look out for our upcoming documentation series, featuring photos, maps, stories and more. Email your info to editor@ditmasparkcorner.com.
