“Bye Bye Baby Breakfast” Bids Farewell to the Summer Babes

All things summer must come to an end, including Habana Outpost’s weekly Baby Breakfasts, which will wrap up with one last blow-out on Tuesday, Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a Bye Bye Baby Breakfast.

Hosted by Sean Meenan, founder of Habana Works, and local children’s shop My Brooklyn Baby, Bye Bye Baby Breakfast is the season’s final hoorah for parents and children 4 years old and younger. The free event, happening at Habana Outpost at 757 Fulton Street, will be complete with visits from local artists and artisans who will facilitate play throughout the morning.

Kids who love to move can enjoy a yoga demonstration by Bija Kids, or a dance routine with Cumbe Center for African and Diaspora Dance. Local children’s author Melanie Hope Greenberg will read from her work, crafters Brooklyn Doodles will be on hand with art activities and Fruiggie will provide snacks for hungry little ones. Adults will also have full access to Habana Outpost’s menu.

What started three years ago as a focus group for Darcy Le Fleming, owner of My Brooklyn Baby, to see if her children’s store would fare well in the Fort Greene neighborhood, grew into Baby Breakfast, a weekly playdate during the summer months for local kids.

“Oct. 2 is also the second anniversary of My Brooklyn Baby’s opening,” said Le Fleming.

“There’ll be free cupcakes and glitter tattoos at my store,” she said, which is located at 692 Fulton Street.
