Three Shot, One Killed While Playing Soccer at Bushwick Playground

BUSHWICK – Three people were shot and one killed at a playground in Bushwick yesterday evening, police confirmed.

Around 6:30 pm on Thursday, July 26, a 911 call went out for shots fired and persons shot at the Bushwick Playground, located at Knickerbocker and Madison Street. Responding officers arrived at the scene and discovered three gunshot victims: a 20-year old man shot in the back and left elbow, a 20-year old grazed on the left arm and a 21-year old male shot in the back, said police.

The three young men were playing soccer at the time of the shooting, sources said.

Responding EMS transported the two 20-year old males to Brookdale Hospital in stable condition. The 21-year old was rushed to Wyckoff Hospital, but he was pronounced dead on arrival.

So far, police have made no arrests, but an investigation into the shooting is underway. The identity of the deceased has been withheld pending family notification.
