Bushwick Blaze Guts House on Halsey

BUSHWICK – A 3-alarm fire tore through a vacant house on Halsey Street in Bushwick this morning, alarming residents and interrupting MTA bus service in the area.
The FDNY responded to the call of a fire at 1216 Halsey around 6:15 am and had the blaze under control by 8:20 am on Monday, October 23rd.
The department responded with 33 units and 140 firefighters on scene, just across the street from Irving Square Park. 1 civilian and 3 firefighters were treated for minor injuries, said the FDNY.

According to FDNY officials, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
