Bullied Teens At John Dewey Given Transfer by DOE
It looks like the two teens at John Dewey High School who were mercilessly tormented by a group of bullies have been offered transfers.
Nicole Druzhenko, 15, and Viktoria Gvozdik, 14, recently began attending classes at Brooklyn Studio Secondary School (8310 21st Ave), writes the Daily News.
According to the News, after they “ran the story about the girl’s plight last Thursday, Dewey officials told them and their families talking to the News was “a big mistake” that would only embolden the bullies.”
But when Druzhenko and Gvozdik got home later that day, the same DOE official who had previously said there was not enough evidence of physical violence called them, approving their transfers.
Education Dept. officials were reported as saying the two students were never denied transfers.
