Brooklyn’s Got Talent: The 10th Annual Coney Island Talent Show

CONEY ISLAND – Brooklynites of all ages will show off their creative gifts at the 10th Annual Coney Island Talent Show on Saturday, July 27.

Sideshow magician Albert Cadabra will host the event on the famed boardwalk, presenting some of Brooklyn’s best talent in the following categories:

Creative Kids – 9 to 12 years old
Creative Kids – 13 to 17 years old
Song, Dance & Variety – 18 years and up

1st place winners in each category will receive a $250 cash prize; 2nd place winners in each category will receive $100; and 3rd place winners in each category will receive $50. All winners will also receive passes to participating Coney Island attractions.

As an added bonus—the Best Dressed contestant in each category will be awarded a special mystery prize.

Judges for the competition include the “Queen of Coney Island,” Bambi The Mermaid, the producer of Coney Island USA’s Burlesque at the Beach variety show and creator of the Miss Coney Island Burlesque Beauty Pageant; Chuck Varga, a former King Neptune for the Coney Island Mermaid Parade and founder of the heavy metal band GWAR; and    Evil Hate Monkey, also known as The King of the Concrete Jungle and a contestant on America’s Got Talent.

The deadline for applications to enter the show was July 13, but you can still head out to the boardwalk next weekend and cheer on the local talent.
