Care for a few summer orbs for gardening? Fancy some occult jewelry? Feel like biting into a lavender cake donut?

You won’t have to travel far at all to do any of these things, as the Brooklyn Flea will debut their Grand Army Market this weekend.

Beginning this Sunday, May 8 and taking place every Sunday through October, Grand Army Plaza will be the home for 30 vendors from 11am-6pm.

“I happen to live nearby and love the ritual of Greenmarket Saturdays, so when the [Prospect Park] Alliance — who we love working with at Smorgasburg — mentioned the chance to create a sort of companion to the farmers market, we jumped at it,” says Brooklyn Flea and Smorgasburg Co-Founder Eric Demby. “Grand Army Plaza is one of my favorite urban open spaces in the way it always bustles with people from different neighborhoods, and we hope the new market will be a fun stop alongside the row of cultural institutions up the block.”

According to The Cut, you’ll be able to pick up designer kids’ clothing from Wovenplay, summer gardening items from B sixonetwo, and occult jewelry from Species by the Thousands.

And yes, the lavender cake donuts from Underwest Donuts will be available for you to savor.

Previously, Grand Army Plaza was used for a Food Truck Rally which took place on select dates throughout the summer.

“The NY Food Truck Association, who had partnered with the Alliance to produce Food Truck Rally at Grand Army Plaza in recent years, decided not to continue for the 2016 season,” says Grace McCreight of the Prospect Park Alliance. “Given the success of the Greenmarket and the Rally at this location, we are partnering with the Brooklyn Flea to produce Grand Army Market.”

Not far away, of course, is Smorgasburg at Prospect Park, which is also taking place every Sunday until October 23 from 11am-6pm. After camping out in the cold weather down at Industry City along with Brooklyn Flea, the highly popular food festival will be at Breeze Hill in Prospect Park on Sundays. We had a chance to taste their offerings last month, and the summer is going to be very tasty.

The flea will also be taking place in other parts of Brooklyn. The Fort Greene Flea takes place every Saturday between 10am-5pm at the schoolyard of Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School (176 Lafayette Avenue between Clermont and Vanderbilt Avenues). The DUMBO Flea takes place every Saturday between 10am-5pm at Anchorage Place (at Water Street). The flea will not be returning to the PS 321 Flea Market in Park Slope this year, which is under new management.

The market is still looking for new vendors, so apply here if you’re an interested merchant.
