Chow Down With Brooklyn Eats This Week at City Point!
DOWNTOWN – Brooklyn’s biggest food expo is back in downtown at a new location—Brooklyn Eats will be showcasing food from 57 vendors at City Point this Thursday, June 28!
Brooklyn Eats features locally owned businesses serving up locally-prepared products from the borough of Brooklyn. Past expos have seen everything from longstanding local favorites like Jo-Mart Chocolates or the now-ubiquitous Brooklyn Bangers to up-and-comers looking to make their mark on the food scene, capitalizing both on the Brooklyn brand and the ravenous appetites of residents. This year promises no different, with an outstanding lineup of exhibitors
The event is open to the public and tickets are $10, which opens up a world of taste-tests from 10 am to 4 pm. Check out photos from last year’s event to get a sense of the spread!
Many of the companies represented at the show don’t have storefronts in the borough, working instead out of industrial production spaces and selling directly to supermarkets and speciality stores, or, increasingly, direct to consumers online. This week’s trade show gives those companies a chance to interact with customers face-to-face and gives consumers an opportunity to grab a sample!
With the high level of competition in the food industry, the booths and faces change every year at Brooklyn Eats, with some brands staying strong and others caving to rising costs and a competitive market. Five Boroughs brewing, which made its debut last year, pouring samples of beer before their official brewery had opened, is now found on tap throughout Brooklyn. Meanwhile, has anyone seen Upruit’s sparkling lemonade cold brew coffee lately? Us either…
On the event website, attendees can peruse the huge line-up of vendors, which will be showcasing everything from distilled spirits to gelato, local cheese to wedding cakes and everything in between!
