Residents of Southern Brooklyn looking to bring questions and concerns to the attention of the Brooklyn District Attorney no longer have to make the long trip to downtown Brooklyn. Kings County District Attorney Charles Hynes has set up an office in Dyker Heights staffed with people trained to handle community complaints ranging from drug dealing to financial fraud matters.

According to a press release, Hynes’s new space is located at 6614 11th Avenue in the offices of the Neighborhood Improvement Association’s Community Services Network (NIA). Open once a week on Mondays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the new location is one of 33 neighborhood walk-in centers that Hynes has opened in the past decade.

The primary intent of the centers is to allow Brooklyn residents the convenience of discussing issues of criminality in their own neighborhoods. The office is equipped to tackle questions on drug dealing, gang activity, scams, landlord-tenant disputes, exploited immigrants and excessive noise.

While the telephone system has yet to be activated at the new center, you can call the District Attorney’s information hotline at (718) 250-2555 for any additional questions.
