Brooklyn Botanic Garden Hosts Annual Cherry Blossom Festival April 28 & 29

BROOKLYN BOTANIC GARDEN – The cherry blossoms will be in peak bloom this weekend (April 28 & 29) and the Brooklyn Botanic Garden will be hosting Sakura Matsuri 2018, the popular annual festival where visitors can enjoy the flowering trees as well as nearly 60 performances, demonstrations, and exhibits celebrating Japanese culture.

The Garden’s vast Cherry Esplanade is home to 76 Prunus ‘Kanzan’ trees that overflow with white and pink blossoms each spring from late March/early April through mid-May. Along with more cherry/sakura trees found along its Cherry Walk and Japanese Hill and Pond Garden, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden is one of the best places outside of Japan to see cherry blossoms.
