Brooklyn-Based Summer Programs For Teens

Does your teenager have a plan for the summer? While there are no shortage of summer camps for younger kids in Brooklyn, it’s a little trickier finding available programs for high schoolers.

Not to worry, though–there are some great options out there for teens with a diverse range of interests, including free programs and programs for school credit. And if none of these pique your teen’s interest, some of the camps on our list for younger children have room for kids up to 17, too.

Animal Lovers

Prospect Park Zoo Teen Internships

Kids will get a rare opportunity to work with animals at the zoo over a three-week session. Payment plans are available.

Arts

Volunteering

Brooklyn Public Library Summer Meals Program

For ages 16 and up
High school students will help serve sack lunches to kids on weekdays at six BPL branches. 2-5 days commitment in either June-July or July-August.

Keep in mind for next year: the NY Aquarium Docent Program, the Brooklyn Cultural Adventures Program, and DYCD’s Summer Youth Employment Program.
