St. Paul’s Church (157 Saint Paul’s Place) will holds its annual Blessing of the Animals service this Sunday, October 5, at 1pm, the Church Avenue BID told us.

“Gather with your neighbors and bring your favorite animals to this free event,” the BID wrote in an email.

If you do want to bring your furry friends to be blessed, they need to be leashed, crated, or otherwise secured.

The community event will include a 1pm blessing of the animals by Father Sheldon Hamblin, live organ music on St. Paul’s Church’s 1956 Estey organ, and a brief 1:30pm tour of the church’s unusual stained glass windows. Refreshments (for us humans) will be provided by Dunkin Donuts on East 17th Street and the Meat Palace Supreme grocery store.

The entrance to the Church is on St. Paul’s Court, located between Ocean Avenue and St. Paul’s Place.
