Did you know that last year the TSA collected $675,000 in loose change left at security checkpoints at airports last year?

While pocket change may seem too small to make a difference, collectively that forgotten change can have a big impact on our community.

As part of its “Bring Change” campaign, our local TD Bank‘s penny arcade (2173 86th Street) will serve as a designated hub to support the BRAVO Volunteer Ambulance Service.

This coming Friday, from 8:30am to 4:30pm, neighbors are invited to participate in a community coin counting event and fundraiser. TD will match up to $2,000 in coins counted and donate it to the organization. A check presentation will follow the counting at 4:30pm.

Since 1974, BRAVO Volunteer Ambulance Service has brought together civic-minded men and women. These individuals make up the largest volunteer ambulance service in the State of New York to serve a single community. Always dedicated and going the distance, the organization provides pre-hospital emergency medical care specifically to Brooklyn. Now BRAVO needs funding to update life-saving equipment on the ambulances.

With 500 events planned through February 2016, this program promises to raise more than $1 million in support of local organizations. To learn more about the program, visit www.tdbringchange.com.
