Bring Arthur & August, Notorious Church Avenue Subway Kittens, Back Home To Ditmas Park

Hey, remember back in the summer when two fur balls on the Church Avenue B/Q tracks stalled part of the NYC subway system for over an hour, capturing hearts across the country and then becoming a political issue?

We know some local commuters were less than thrilled with the kitty chaos, but here’s your chance to let little Arthur and August make it up to you with a lifetime of snuggles and crack-of-dawn wake ups. The New York Daily News says the kittens, having already been fostered for the past month or so, are now ready for their forever homes–and we’re really hoping a local will bring them back to the neighborhood.

Arthur and August are currently at Animal Care & Control in Manhattan, getting up to date on shots. AC&C employee Richard Gentles says they hope to adopt the mischievous pair out together very soon, preferably to a home without children to “make for an easier transition.”

At least one of our staff members also thinks the kittens could be named something more reflective of the area and/or the boys’ subway adventure–so if you’re a wordsmith who’s looking to adopt, email adoption@nycacc.org (and leave your moniker ideas in the comments).
