Tomorrow, BRIC Arts Media is holding its first Tech Basics class for senior citizens — and anyone, really — who want to learn the ways of electronic communication. The new series consists of six free classes — three each in Computer Basics and Social Media Basics — focused on computer and social media literacy.

The schedule is as follows:

  • COMPUTER BASICS
Choose from one of the following classes at BRIC House:
    Saturday, June 27 | 10:30AM – 1:30PM
    Tuesday, July 28, 6:30-9:30PM
    Monday, August 24, 6:30-9:30PM
  • SOCIAL MEDIA BASICS
Choose from one of the following classes at BRIC House:
    Wednesday, July 15, 6:30-9:30PM
    Wednesday, July 29, 6:30-9:30PM
    Tuesday, August 25, 6:30-9:30PM

Appropriately, registration is ONLY open via phone or in-person registration. So since we’re an online-only publication, please spread the word to seniors you know!

If you or someone you know is interested in signing up, please call or email a friendly and helpful member of the Tech Basics team at 718.683.5610 / 718.683.5645 or techbasics@BRICartsmedia.org.

These classes come on the heels of local seniors in Fort Greene and Clinton Hill becoming more vocal in pushing businesses and community groups to be more senior- and age-friendly in both lifestyle and quality of life issues.
