BREAKING: Police-Involved Car Accident Leaves Four Injured On Brighton Beach Avenue, Ocean Parkway (Photos)
A police van and private car collided on Ocean Parkway and Brighton Beach Avenue at approximately 1:00pm today, resulting in four people – including two officers – being taken to the hospital.
“I was a block south of Neptune Avenue and heard two really loud distinct bangs. Bang, squeel, bang,” said tipster James Wall, who arrived at the scene moments later.
Cops, firefighters and ambulances were on the scene in mere seconds, as they were already nearby responding to another call.
“All of a sudden an ambulance peeled off and the firetruck turned around and police started coming out of the woodwork,” said Wall.
Wall couldn’t say who was at fault, but it appeared the police van impacted the privately-owned black car on its side, knocking it into one of the train support pillars.
Two members of the NYPD were taken from the van into ambulances and transported to a hospital. Two others were removed from the black car and also transported to a hospital.
