Breadfruit Tree Cafe Opens On 4th Avenue

Caribbean cuisine returns to 4th Avenue and 10th Street, thanks to the new Breadfruit Tree Cafe, which opened its doors on Wednesday.

Employees tell us that the restaurant, like its predecessor Slope Cafe, will serve “island comfort food,” along with a number of traditional American cafe options like burgers, fries, and coffees. Breadfruit Tree’s website is still a work in progress, but hours are currently set at 6am to 6pm weekdays (which is nice for those early birds looking to pick up a cup of joe on the way to the subway), and 6am to 10pm weekends.
