Out-of-town visitors will have a new option for accommodations come summer. That’s when Gowanus Inn & Yard is scheduled to open at 645-651 Union Street.

With construction wrapping up, the hotel is slated to open July/August—just in time for summertime guests.

The five-story hotel will feature “dynamic industrial contemporary design,” 76 guest rooms, a rooftop bar, a restaurant/lounge, and a courtyard—however no pool as initially planned, according to Brownstoner.

Located beside a Speedway gas station and across from Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, Gowanus Inn & Yard is a collaboration between developer Matt Abramcyk, the founder of the Beatrice Inn in the West Village, and Alec Shtromandel who developed the tiny yet posh Union Hotel located nearby at 611 Degraw Street.

Along with the Union Hotel, other hotels in the vicinity include a Holiday Inn Express just a few steps away from the Gowanus Inn & Yard at 625 Union Street, a Super 8 Hotel around the corner at 267 3rd Avenue, a Fairfield Inn & Suites By Marriott at 181 3rd Avenue, and a Red Lion Inn & Suites at 279 Butler Street (between 3rd Avenue & Nevins Street).
