According to the Daily News, an apparent freak boating accident yesterday in the waters off Bensonhurst resulted in the death of a 73-year-old New Jersey man.

From Daily News:

Florijan Kasumovic appeared to have been dragged in the water with his leg stuck in a boat railing just before 1 pm, police sources said. He was boating alone.
“You don’t know if it’s going to be your last day out there,” said Steve Seagal, 61, a long time boater who witnessed the police response to the accident. “A lot of things can go wrong. It’s better if you don’t go boating alone.”

The News reports that the 21-foot white fishing boat was towed along with Kasumovic’s body to a dock near Shore Parkway and 25th Avenue. The pier is currently used by the Sanitation Department.
