After the loss of a few favorite coffee shops toward the end of last year, we’re about to get a bit rejuvenated, as Blue Bottle Coffee plans to open a new location in our neighborhood.

The California-based coffee roaster will open its Park Slope shop at 203 7th Avenue, at the corner of 3rd Street, in the space left vacant when Ocean Fish Market moved to 5th Avenue over the summer. Eater reports they’ll be using the outdoor space as a patio, and that they’ll be serving food, as well — take a peek at this San Francisco location’s menu to perhaps get a preview (Popeye eggs!).

Blue Bottle takes their coffee seriously, as this explanation from their site pretty well sums up: “We roast coffee on vintage gear, put it in compostable bags, and still get it to our customers within 48 hours.” They’ve currently got seven locations in NYC, with another planned, for Williamsburg, in addition to the 7th Ave spot.

“I think this is a nice way to give a jolt to 7th Avenue which sorely needs it!” tipster J wrote to us, adding that Blue Bottle is a favorite, best in the city in J’s opinion, “maybe besides Joe.”

Eater notes the space should open this spring.
