BKLYN DESIGNS: Textiles, Lighting, Ceramics

BKLYN DESIGNS – a juried exhibition of the best furniture, lighting and home accessories made or designed in Brooklyn.  Here is a sneak peek at who’s participating:

Bolé Road Textiles

Bolé Road Textiles – Brooklyn-based designer Hana Getachew started Bolé Road Textiles out of a desire to merge her love of Ethiopian handwoven fabrics with her career in interior design.

Wren Lab Ceramics

Wren Lab Ceramics features one-of-a-kind pieces made of wheel thrown porcelain by Erin Banta Wilford. Each piece is unique in form and texture, with a play between the matte porcelain clay body and the gloss of a clear celadon glaze.

Graffiti Cloud, Still Alive Lights

Still Alive Lights is a lighting company that brings art to life. The lights are designed and manufactured based on the notion that simply turning the product on and off is not enough – they need to be engaging and educational.

Demetria Chappo Ceramics

Demetria Chappo Ceramics – Demetria Chappo is a Brooklyn-based artist and ceramist making hand-sculptures and wheel thrown homewares, decor, wall hangings, and sculptures. Chappo is known for her intricate surface details, organic and architectural form, and universal symbolism.

Rug samples, MK Workshop

MK Workshop is a boutique interior design firm in Carroll Gardens. They strongly believe that a combination of beauty, quality and functionality can be achieved regardless of budget. At BKLYN DESIGNS they will show a new fabric, rug and accessory line.

Emogayu creates ceramic forms inspired by single moments in the flow of nature, and has been exploring ceramic using ash glaze with ash from a local pizzeria.

AphroChic – the brainchild of husband-and-wife team Jeanine Hays and Bryan Mason, AphroChic celebrates their coined phrase, “Modern.Soulful.Style.” They also offer interior design solutions,  and there must be room for one of their poufs in your abode.

New Market Goods – designed in Greenpoint and manufactured in partnership with Bangladeshi artisan group, Deshal. Together they hope to celebrate Bangladeshi artisanship, improve transparency in clothing production, and make your new favorite garment or home textiles.
