Bite Of The Day: Bueno Burrito At ‘sNice

Bite Of The Day: Bueno Burrito At ‘sNice
'Snice burrito

Sometimes vegetarians and vegans get the short shrift, just a couple menu options as an afterthought at a restaurant or cafe. But ‘sNice (315 5th Ave at 3rd St), with its welcoming atmosphere and extensive menu, is a great option for not just Park Slope neighbors who don’t eat meat, but for anyone looking for a healthy, hearty meal in a place where you can usually feel free to linger a while.

With the prospect of Calexico actually opening soon and the new Fatty Daddy already serving reportedly gut-busting burritos, the Bueno Burrito ($9.25) at ‘sNice may not be the one to meet the expectations people have of finding a proper Mission-style burrito in Park Slope. With its black beans, rice, avocado, tomatoes, lettuce, and salsa, you might think of it more as a Mexican wrap, and with some salad on the side, it’s definitely a satisfying lunch, whether you’re vegan (the burrito is) or not. However, if you want to add cheese to make it a bit more rich and filling, you can.

You can order delivery via Seamless ($10 minimum) or you can get take out, but eating in is worthwhile for breakfast, lunch, or dinner (hours are 7:30am-10pm daily), as the staff is friendly and accommodating, and if you get a table, you won’t likely feel rushed to leave. For the laptop crowd, they’ve got wifi — though we’ve found it can be somewhat unreliable — but note that you can’t sit with a computer at a majority of the tables (or at tables in the outdoor patio) from 12-3pm on weekdays, or all day on weekends and holidays.

Anyone have other favorites from the ‘sNice menu to recommend?
