Bishop Kearney Gets A Big Yellow Bus
With schools back in session, you may have seen a new vehicle around town.
For the first time ever, Bishop Kearney High School has acquired its own 40-passenger school bus, just in time for the 2015-2016 school year, the Catholic girls’ high school announced last week in its weekly newsletter.
The bus, which is painted in green with the school’s name, will be used for athletic events and to visit local colleges and cultural events in all five boroughs, according to school officials. Previously, the school rented buses for those events.
“This is just one of our enhancements this summer, including to the library, classrooms, and the gym,” said Bishop Kearney President Dr. Margaret Minson. “It is certainly an exciting time to be at Bishop Kearney. We have also just welcomed an on-site Universal Pre-Kindergarten where our students will have the opportunity for internships.”
The girls haven’t yet taken their new ride for a spin as the vehicle is still being inspected and getting some brand new seat covers.
Congratulations, Bishop Kearney, and good luck on the upcoming school year!
